I did not know which documents a joint account needed until this site listed them per product. I gathered everything in one pass, walked into the branch and the application was completed in under an hour.
I searched by a bank name that appears on the site under a slightly different spelling and got no results at all. Finding it manually took a few tries, and a fuzzy match or a did-you-mean suggestion would have got me there in seconds.
Two years on, I check the listing page before I move any savings. It is one of the few comparison pages that has not been buried under ads or redesigned into something I cannot navigate on a phone.
I rang six banks and got six different answers on the same question. Here the identical question was answered on the page, with the source of the figure noted. I walked into the branch knowing exactly what to ask.
I had assumed the account with the lowest interest rate was the cheapest. Working through the fees the page lists, the second highest rate came out cheapest for the way I actually bank. It has saved me a few hundred a year.
There was no mention of a mobile app on any listing, which is confusing because branches kept referring me to one. The comparison itself was accurate and clearly dated, so I still completed the account here.
I compared accounts with my brother over a call by sharing the screen, and the side-by-side view held up at every step. I would like a share link so I could send the exact shortlist rather than describing it.
